• Based on those requirements, we choose the best blast cleaning system to be used for surface preparation.
• To achieve an SSPC-SP10 near white metal blast with 2 to 3 mil profile, we determine the technique necessary to remove old coating, rust, corrosion, and mill scale.
• During the blasting cycle we always control the humidity and will apply a holding primer if needed.
• We apply the first coat of our phenolic flexible epoxy coating at the rate of 10 to 12 mil thick, then allow the coating to cure for a period of a minimum of 24 hours. We then apply a second coat of epoxy at the rate of 10 to 12 mil thick for a minimum of 20 mil thick.
• We utilize 25,000-volt test equipment to subject the entire area to a Discontinuity (Holiday) Test.
